Subject: Question on Valmiki Ramayana
————————————————————
Hare Krishna prabhu
pamho. agtsp. agtsgag
I have read Maharaj’s Ramayana and had never found anything confusing.
However, during preaching, i came across a person who was arguing that Lord
Rama ate meat and was quoting directly from Valmiki ramayana slokas. I had
to check on the net to find if this was true. I visited the site
http://www.valmikiramayan.net and found that there were many slokas that can
be translated to say that Lord ate meat.
Definitely, the site might have a lot of misinterpretations. However, I am
also confused why Sri Valmiki Muni would write the scripture in a way
confusing. Even if Lord Rama did not eat meat during the time of exile, it
could also mean He was eating earlier. Can you check with Maharaj or anyone
competent and get me the answer prabhu?
These are some of the quotes.
